reGeneration hosted “Two Mundos,” a show of paintings, sculpture and furniture by celebrated Costa Rican artist Gabriela Valenzuela-Hirsch, and works by a collective of emerging Costa Rican artists under her mentorship. This was Gabriella’s first show in 10 years, having returned to New York reinvigorated by the splendor of her native land, and emboldened by the wisdom of age and experience. The contemporary pieces on view in “Two Mundos” merged the modern design sensibilities of the sophisticated urban world with the sensual world of the natural paradise she now inhabits. Masculine and feminine energies, tranquility and chaos came together in beautiful balance in the work, all created with organic, eco-conscious materials.
